Is there a way to confirm the professional status of an individual claiming to be qualified and registered as C.Eng?
I've searched the EC website and couldn't find anything useful, nor at the IET. Does anyone know how this might be accomplished, please? Edited: 03 April 2012 at 01:47 PM by Gruff |

Contact the Engineering Council or The IET by phone. In principle the register is a public record, but to protect from the possibility of fishing for data, it would be normal to only confirm or deny that an individual was registered when given sufficient details. Making a false claim is a serious matter. All registrants will have an Engineering Council register number and licenced institution membership number which you can ask them to confirm. Many people have certificates and some have cards but this isn't obligatory.
