Hi,

I am in the process of building my list of competencies using career manager and a PRA has said I seem to be on the right track.

My problem is that due to the recession, both our Managing Director and the Engineering Manager no longer work with this company. I am currently reporting to a "senior design engineer" who has little to no understanding of what I do and why.

We do have a sales engineer who is registered as MIET, however again he has no idea what I do day to day.

What would be the best course of action in this case?

Br,
Dave.

(Sorry to make a forum post but I have found that emailing the IET is a slow and painful process. I.e.; 9 days to reply to an email and even then they just stated I need to supply my date of birth).

Hi Wilson479,

I've got the same problem. I've managed to get in to with an external advisor who is in the process of helping. Only problem is that I've had to bring him in a few times and basicallytalk him through my job. Its taken a bit longer than normal but it is working.

Hope you get something sorted.

Marty
