Report on TV program "sky at night" shows that our nearest star has a large [ or had] goldilocks planet which is now over-large. This planet could and should be visited by a mini rocket/probe if we scientists on earth get our act together quickly; as it may have housed our ancestors.
The planet may have been the home of the Nephimites mention in the bible in Genesis chapter 6. If this new planet circles its star in about only 1 month then Noah and his space travel ancestors would age themselves in those years so 950 years would be nearer 95 earth years old when he died.
Where did we come from and I just wonder if they built the big pyramid as well??

There is no hurry to visit, I don't think you get the scale of space.
Alphas centuri is a star cluster approx 4 and a half light years away, or if you prefer some 26 trillion miles.
(where a trillion is a million millions - short scale.)

Now the furthest man made thing from earth is the voyager probe, launched in 1977. This reached the edge of our suns own planetary system in 2012, and is currently doing about 11 miles a second. Some time in the next decade it will be so far away that it is no longer be detectable from earth.
To travel 4 and half light years at that speed takes about 10 thousand years - so if we sent a voyager like probe in that direction now, and could achieve the same speed it would arrive in perhaps 12016 (a speed we probably could not replicate for an arbitrary direction as voyager befitted massively from gravitational acceleration as it passed the planets on the way out)

We might do better to spend the next 5000 years developing a probe that can go twice as fast, and a practical means of knowing if it has arrived - receiving radio signals from under the shadow of a local star is a none starter.
