I know there is a difference between a watch and a clock, but the article could have added the contribution John Harrison made to timekeeping when he made his H4 chronometer.
His accurate time piece solved the maritime problem of ships estimating their longitude position. Britain may not have "Ruled the Waves" so effectively without his contribution.
Another great invention by a British inventor.
