Isn't it time that IET stopped promoting Technology and promoted Engineering instead. It's no wonder that Engineering now only refers to the trades. This Article relates to engineering.

Surely, the engineering leads to the technology.
I think the question should be: 'Why is all the engineering not here but there?' I think globalization is sorting out our place in the world's professional architecture. Technology is simply the study of technique, though. Engineers all study from the techniques of other engineers. If you're actually referring to the end-products taking more precedence over the engineering behind it, then it's a totally different matter.
The fact of the matter is that engineering IS a trade. Technology is NOT a trade; it's a study of the techniques used in the trade. ------------------------- Technology: something that's hated & cursed at by all engineers, technologists & technicians! ( Lousy modern technology! |
