Are the IET getting involved with the QE2 prize? Either in promotion, development, award reviews, providing media commentary or other ways? This seems like a great platform to generate some positive publicity and a good opportunity for the engineering profession in general. Have the IET released a supporting statement or contacted the press in relation to this?

Queen Elizabeth Prize: Inspiration, or just recognition?
Tuesday Poll Last week saw the launch of the Queen Elizabeth Engineering prize, a £1 million Nobel-style scheme set up to honour the best engineering performed by an individual or small group from anywhere in the world. It's a laudable enterprise that should help raise the profile and status of engineering but is it likely to do anything to boost innovation or engineering in the UK?
