Hi chaps,

It seems my electrical training/ assessing time with my current company is at an end with the announcement of redundancies (73 in total). They are making new jobs (45 in total) but the companies plans have stirred up hornets nests across the board. As such I am looking for work elsewhere and have booked in for my BOSIET, MIST and medical this month with the hope of starting a career in Offshore (Oil/ Gas) as a competency assessor, trainer or electrical technician (yes, back on the tools). I have my CompEx (gas and dust), A1 assessor award and relevant electrical quals.

Currently:
- MEDICAL - Offshore Medical Certificate (Aug 22)
- MIST - Minimum Industry Safety Training (Aug 22)
- BOSIET - Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (Aug 22)
- CompEx Ex05 & Ex06(Hazardous Dust areas inspections and installations)
- CompEx EX01, EX02, EX03 & EX04(Hazardous Gas areas inspections and installations)
- City & Guilds 2391-10 (Inpsection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations)
- City & Guilds 2382-10 (Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 - 17th Edition)
- City & Guilds 2377-200 (Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment)
- A1 electrical assessment (Range of methods)
- Certificate in Education (Cert Ed, Teaching and Training)
- Course resource development and improvement (Workbook, presentations, enhancing teaching and learning)
- Full time served apprenticeship (C&G 236 Parts 1, 2 and 3, AM1, AM2)

I have applied for almost 50 offshore jobs so far and rarely get a response. So if anyone has any good advice, contacts, jobs, etc I would love to hear from you? As posting links here is an issue feel free to pm me via the board, email gareth1009@hotmail.co.uk or via my linked in profile
linkedin.com/pub/gareth-trow/28/a77/919
Cheers for the replies.
