The key is in the second sentence:
"The hacking was possible because the remotely flown planes have an unprotected communications link"

Glad it wasn't our lot responsible for the requirements spec

I'm intrigued to know what the opinion of the IET is concerning the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The reason I ask is because a sizeable fraction of IET members are employed by defence and armaments industries which have made £££££ from these two wars.
