Knovel has a new look; yes it looks good, but it seems more difficult to find anything! Simply browsing seems especially difficult now. Anyone else agree?

Cheers,
Ian.

Hello Ian,
Sorry you are having problems. See our blog for a hints and tips pdf and Knovel's own support centre.
If you are just looking for the books we subscribe to go to Browse-IET members- this should give you the list of titles available.
Please ring or email the library if there is anything we can do to help
[Tel: 0207445461 or libdesk@theiet.org]

Incidently, there will be some more changes to Knovel shortly as the publisher, Wiley, is removing content from this platform. Please see our blog for updates on this.

Thanks Mike,

When browsing, the old version used to have a long list of alphabetically sorted hyperlinks which you could quickly scroll down and find the title of a book you were interested in. Now you need to scroll down and then change the page and repeat and repeat and repeat - it takes a lot longer looking for a book title! The old version may not have looked good but it was quick and easy.

Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian,

Here's a couple of ideas that might help. If you know the title, or some of the words in the title, of the book you are looking for- just type into the main search box on the home page. Prefix you search with title:
If you know the subject area but not the title go to Browse- All content- this will give a break down of the subject areas available- select the one you want, which will give you All content results- click onto My subscription to see what the IET has in this area. You can use the 'facets' on the left hand side of the screen to narrow your search further if need be.

Hope this helps. If you are ever in the London area please pop in to see us in the library.

Thanks Mike,

It is a shame that Wiley have removed their content as one of their books was my most popular target - and it is not available from the Wiley e-books section.

Cheers,
Ian.
