Hi All,

This may be a bit of a long shot, but worth a try nonetheless.

I am a renewable energy professional with 5 years in transmission and 3 years in offshore wind, however I'm considering a return to academia to commence a doctorate.

I'm scrabbling around for information, help or advice. A couple of areas I've identified so far which fascinate me are:

- Large scale concentrated solar power development and integration into the energy mix.

- Rural electrification programs, grid extension and/or off-grid electricity for isolated communites.

I am right at the beginning of my search and trying to delve into the world of academia and identify appropriate foundations, researchers, academics and institutions which specialise in either of the above areas, or anyone familiar with international doctoral programs and their funding etc.

I write hear in case anyone who reads it has any particular insight they would be able to share, or knows someone who might.

Any suggestions are very gratefully received.
