Anybody else think it would be a good idea if the 'Occupations' ribbon across the homepage of the 'Institution of Engineering and Technology opened with the part that shows Engineers and Technicians, not Academics, Soldiers and Businessmen?

This is a good idea. It would emphasize the engineering and technology elements of our Institution. Better still, why not have ALL the sectors visible and hotspotted so you mouseover and select directly. They could pulsate or change colour, say, to give them some life.

Good idea or not - its not happened. Engineers often feel undervalued in society. There are many examples where we seem sidelined and marginalised....but I wasn't expecting it on the home page of the IET.
