The "Information Matters" email is poorly conceived and executed. First, it is dull black and white with no images or anything to liven it up.
Mainly, although it has six headings, each with its own "read more" button which in most other emails or websites leads you to more information on that topic, in this case each button takes you to the same web page, which is the same list of headings with none of the text left out. And it gives you the option of downloading the same again in pdf or word format! How exciting is that? The IET should read Jakob Neilsen's columns of web usability, at www.useit.com - he has a lot of guidelines, and too many examples of bad web design. The IET would fit in there all too well. ------------------------- regards, Rod Dalitz (CEng MIEE FInstP) rod.dalitz@blueyonder.co.uk |
