I simply can't afford the membership fees any more. I can't believe how much they have gone up recently. I am making so many sacrifices to keep afloat at this difficult financial time and the IET has to be one of those to go.
If I choose not to renew this coming time and thus loose my membership, can I re apply in a few years when hopefully my finances recover and I can afford it again or will I never be able to be a member again if I leave now? What would be involved in re-applying? Do you need to give proof of all career details as these have been lost over time? I am a MIET status and have been a member for about 20 years. Thanks. Keith. |

If you leave you will have to apply again for post nominals when you come back.

You could also apply for reduced subscription of 50%.

As long as you re-apply within 3 years of leaving you will not need to be re-assessed and so will be able to rejoin as Member with designatory letters MIET. If you re-apply after a period of 3 years then you will need to be re-assessed.
