We now have a 'Director of Knowledge' who is in charge of the multitude of journalists producing th E&T Magazine , and he defends it's content , claiming, quote :-
'The readers [and advertisers] tell us they want a magazine about the world outside the IET, uncensored and editorially independent of the IET' My question is why don't these 'readers' buy such a magazine of their own choice, instead of raiding IET subs to further the careers of these journalists? We used to have magazines for each discipline, ie Manufacturing, Electrical, etc, so there should be enough relevant input to fill it. Apart from updates on technological advances in our various fields, we should also be kept informed of the IET's policy on subjects like nuclear energy - as supplied to the Government - so we know what is said in our name. Do YOU believe his claim he speaks for 76% of the membership , I've never been asked ? |

Do YOU believe his claim he speaks for 76% of the membership , I've never been asked ? Me neither. If it is not true it calls into question the ethics of the IET. Regards. |

I've goven up on E&T, it's clear that it is produced for people outside the IET, not professional Engineers.
I leave it in the wrapper like everyone else seems to do. Simon |
