The current issue of Wiring Matters has two articles which I find either confusing or simply misleading. This is as much a matter for the editor as the authors but I can find no reference either in the Magazine or on the IET website as to where letters or emails can be sent, nor does there seem to be a forum for discussing publications.
In my view Wiring Matters needs a letters section, if only to act as some sort of quality control on the publication. |

I suggest that you use the technical contacts for the Wiring Regulations on this contacts page.

There is also a very authoritative and well attended forum on wiring matters and regulations here

The issue is not really technical, the whole article was about exploring the possibility of a standard for LV wiring in the home without even defining what the author meant by "LV", Since he started by referring to phone chargers and Solar cells I suspect he was talking about 6volt or 12Volt, (which technically is ELV) and, if so, would have substantial problems with volt drop which was not mentioned!
The issue I want to address is that of editorial review of our publications and the lack of information on who is the editor or even a published email address for him or her. Cheers, Harry |
