For installation of a transmission cable circuit with trench depth of approx. 1.5 m there are two options:
1) Square sides, i.e. width at base and width at top the same (approx. 1 m).
2) Sloped sides, i.e. width at base narrower than width at top (approx. 1 m and 3 m respectively).
Assuming that the square sided option requires side supports and the sloped sided does not; what are the relative costs likely to be? Does the extra cost of the side supports outweigh the cost of excavating twice as much material?
