More transformer info needed. Is there a different transformer model in PSCAD that needs only transformer nameplate data to model the transformer without additional tests? 22 January 2014 02:32 PM shikinjamil Posts: 1 Joined: 03 December 2013 Hi Tasa, You have enough information to model your basic transformer. you can now calculate your positive sequence leakage reactance and Copper losses. positive seq leakage reactance and copper losses can be calculated using the following formula X = Z sin (atan(X/R)) R = Z cos (atan (X/R)) No Load losses are usually set to be very minimal say 0.0001 p.u.
