I've got some old HV switchgear (South Wales C6X4) that was installed in the 60's, does anyone know if it's possible to add a remote trip to the breaker?

Basically I'm looking to intertrip the HV with an LV REF protection scheme.

Many thanks for any help.

Without seeing how the switchgear is configured it is difficult to say, but assuming the CB has an electrical trip coil then this would be fairly easy to achieve.

You might need a battery for the tripping supply or similar if the current set up uses time limit fuses. If its the common three element over current and earth fault relay it should be straightforward to modify if you have volt free contacts but check the trip coil current rating
