Downing Street: People faced with rising energy bills should consider wearing jumpers

Ed Davey: I wear a jumper at home to keep energy bills down

"Energy Secretary said it is possible to keep bills down by taking energy efficient measures."

The proposed subsidy arrangements in The Energy Bill, will mean that trying to save energy simply results in higher levies being charged on what remains of consumer and SME bills.

I expect that some rich oxbridge educated politicians have never had a chilblain or haven't experienced the health problems caused by living in damp cold and mouldy housing in wnter.

If they were going to recommend this option they should have recommended a more complete solution: thermal underwear, many layers of clothing, skiing moon boots, thick golves and a mask that can filter out airborne fungal spores.
