Perhaps the techtonic plates governing British Government policy on nuclear have started to shift in favour of developing a new set of safer and cheaper nuclear power technologies with reduced long lasting radioactive waste production. My fear is that we just end up wasting all this money on investigating a new generation of fast reactor designs.

Been there done that - plenty of times!
