With regard to a new DB I have been asked if it is fitted with TUV or TXU fuses

What is/are the difference between the two?

Thanks

No I am not too sure either.

A TXU fuse could be referring to the class of fuse, its rating and bolt pattern etc, but I haven't come across a TUV class fuse.

On the other hand TUV could be referring to the German standards organisation, but I haven't come across a TXU standard.

We will both be waiting for a more learned response....

Kind regards

TXU appears to be prefix to Alstom Redspot fuses - It's not clear whether TUV relates to as stated the German standard or another.

I think you are on the right lines with the bolt pattern Donald.

TXU = 00

TUV= 0
0

0= Mounting bolt hole on either end of fuse

I think!!

It can happen on the odd occasion!!

I have come across fuses stamped up TXU that have a double bolt fixing at each end rated 1000A and above.

I haven't seen a fuse stamped as TUV, although have seen some references now from a google search so it may be a designation for a foreign country to me.

Can you not just supply the specification of the incoming fuse to the client to answer their question?

Kind regards
