I'm trying to setup an examination paper with a question related to power consumption by a typical Tesco's Extra, a Large Sainsbury's or even an Asda. What kind of power consumption does a typical large supermarket pull at maximum demand?
I'm guessing 3MVA @ 0.80pf? thus 2.4MW Active and 1.8 Reactive Then what i am trying to do is resolve a typical value for the aggregate Inductance/Capacitance/Resistance x 3 (as there are 3 lines), balanced. 3MVA/3 = 1MVA per line. I am guessing to find my impedance Z per line (230^2)/1MVA = 52.9milliOhms.? |

Hope you have assumed supply voltage 3 phase 0f 400 v ie 230 v per phase.
