we know that we have specific voltage AC surge arresters, but what's the best way and implications of surge protection for an HVDC network? I know that by having high structures at strategic points close to the substation and certainly at the 3 winding converter, this should minimise any overvoltages, but what about strikes further away? What is the best way to protect this HVDC installation?
