im interested in connecting a 20KW generator to the grid
is it just a matter of picking the right inverter and connecting it via a meter and selling the electricity back to grid like the way solar power feed in tarifs work or is it more complicated than that |

If it were, I for one would be out of a job!
Suggest you check out: http://www.energynetworks.org/...buted-generation.html This gives you access to the Connection Guide plus lots, lots more. Enjoy and good luck Jonno ------------------------- Jonno |

Funny, when I was a sparky in the uk never did, any gennys. Now, as a consulting eng(designer on my card- but do everything) in Canada, I've got 2 pairs of 2.5mva @ 2.4kv gennys to work on.
They are standby power for 2 WTP. Isolation/synchronization to the grid is one of the big issues. As well as contractual agreements to supply the utility. |

As commented by Mr Jonathan Hill earlier ,
Pl refer GRID codes re Connection of Private Generator to the system. Besides Technical expertise you need to address regulatory and commercial issues in conforming to prevailing regulation and power selling agreement with DISCOM etc. regards, Umesh |
