What are the IEC standards covering the design of EHV cables?
I have the requirements for Testing, but not manufacture. Should the conductor have a metalic tape/wire screen around it, like MV cables? I have come across some cable from Korea with a corrigated alumimum sheath, but no conductor metailic screen! Is this cable to IEC standard?? |

Assuming you are talking XLPE, the IEC standard is IEC 62067. Unlike lower down the voltages the cable design is not dictated. A metallic conductor screen is not required. The manufacturer details should identify if this meets the IEC standard.

Hi irevans
Yes it is XLPE cable and the standard I have is IEC 62067 - which the manufacture claims it is produced to and is stated in the data/spec sheet for the cable. |
