What are the IEC standards covering the design of EHV cables?
I have the requirements for Testing, but not manufacture.
Should the conductor have a metalic tape/wire screen around it, like MV cables?
I have come across some cable from Korea with a corrigated alumimum sheath, but no conductor metailic screen!

Is this cable to IEC standard??

Assuming you are talking XLPE, the IEC standard is IEC 62067. Unlike lower down the voltages the cable design is not dictated. A metallic conductor screen is not required. The manufacturer details should identify if this meets the IEC standard.

Hi irevans

Yes it is XLPE cable and the standard I have is IEC 62067 - which the manufacture claims it is produced to and is stated in the data/spec sheet for the cable.
