I have been involved in a research project with Loughborough University, which involves thermal modelling of power transformers.
The research is nearly complete and I am hoping to get the work published. However, before this, I would like to validate some of the IEC and IEEE models against some real data. So far, I have been unable to get hold of this. Please get in touch if you could provide this data. Here is what I need: - Transformer loading (current) - Ambient temperature - Transformer measured oil temperature - Transformer measured winding temperature The data should ideally be measured at a frequency of every 10 minutes. Ideally, the following information would also be supplied: - Measured tap position - Measured voltage - Signal for cooling mode - Factory heat run tests, including: - no load to load loss ratio (and if applicable, how this varies with tap position) - winding temperature rise above oil at rated conditions - oil temperature rise above oil at rated temperature - how the above vary with different cooling modes The ball park size of transformer I am interested in is 63/90 MVA transformer, although other sizes would also be useful. Thanks! |

I would imagine you likely already know about this company based in Loughborough, they might talk to you.

You could try some of the windfarm operators, they often have transformers of that size and as the installations are newish they often have comprehensive SCADA

Thanks for your replies.
Brush transformers got back to me, but unfortunately they weren't able to help. I actually work for a company that design SCADA systems for wind farm operators. They have had a look and none of the customers are monitoring these parameters. |

I am also working on transformer thermal modelling in my PhD thesis. Therofore I have the following information.
Monophase autotransformer 1.- is a 45/60/75 MVA, 400/230/15kV, OA/FOA/FOA, with Westinghouse technology. Monitored four times during a year, every monitor period last two weeks, with a measure frequency of one minute. Monophase autotransformer 2.- is a 25/33 MVA, 230/115/13.8kV, OA/FA with Westinghouse technology and with natural esther oil. Monitored by almost one year with a measure frequency of 10 minutes. This transformer was refilled with natural esther oil, therefore Heat-Run-Test was performed with mineral oil (before the refilled) and with natural esther oil. If your research has a real good level, as to publish in a Journal, contact me to share information. |

Thanks for your response, majacobo. I sent you a private message a couple of days ago. Did you get it OK?
