Ellison Type GEA 31 LV Circuit Breaker
This particular Transformer LV ACB rated at 3150A has dashpot O/C protection devices. The only settings appear to be a %age variation from 80% to 120%. The device is driven from 3000/5 CT's Does anone know what the time / current characteristic looks like? |

Dont know about this particular breaker.
Characteristic is dependant on the viscosity of the oil and to an extent ambient temp. Modern silicon oil is less dependent on ambient temp. Operating force is proportional to the square of the magnetic flux density. Also check the plunger in the dashpot as some have an adjustable hole to further change to setting. |
