Under the new regulations, is it legislation to perform periodic isnpections to existing lightning protection systems.
What are the frequency
What is the scope
if anyone does these already can they advise what is applied normally?

Basically it is down to you to do an assessment of how you feel the system may deteriorate over time and the maintenance required to keep it up to spec and also how reliant you are upon your system.
A lot of my sites are in flat areas and they are the tallest building around so if lightning does strike there is a high possibility of it hitting our buildings.
We inspect the system every 11 months, basically so we can see what happens to it at different times of the year. The majority of the work is a visual inspection to look at the security of the fixings etc. On top of that we do measure the earth electrode resistance and sometimes the resistance of joints if we have doubts about them or they are remade.
