So in this case span length increase is a good option or not?
Can you ask this question again?
Who or what are you most interested in, those who suffer while construction works take place and the length of time they suffer for, or the economic and engineering justification for building long bridges?
Generally the contruction engineering sector have lost the ability to build basic infrastucture like bridges, rail lines and roads, which can be paid for by reasonable access pricing schemes or toll charges.
Whether this is a failure of the market, the engineering profession in its ability to innovate or is a new fact of life as we run up to insurmountable technological bounds, buffers and costs I have no idea.
