In the recent article in E&T magazine about engineers working with ethicists, 'Social Engineering', the ethicist James Dempsey was interviewed about his approach to partnering with engineers on the ethics of engineering.

For anyone who wants to get some practical experience of this approach, the Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied Centre at the University of Leeds for which James works is providing, through the IET, a training course in Professional Ethics for Engineers.

This one-day course has been designed to help you explore how ethical issues impact on your working life. During the course, you will be introduced to the process of ethical reasoning and will explore how ethical values are applied in professional context. Through scenario-based training, you will also learn how to identify ethical issues and deal with these issues as they arise.
