Hi,
Does anyone know how to add a 'Scrolling text banner' across a PowerPoint slide? I have a presentation to do for a project at college and I would like to scroll some text across the screen as I speak rather than just show it as bullet points. I know how to add 'credits' effect etc but I am looking for an effect that would be like a news channels 'BREAKING NEWS' text banner. If anyone knows how please let me know. You could buy an advanced tool for this. but the simplest way is to have a series of text boxes with the information you need. organise them in the order you want them to appear and then set up the animation so that none of them show at the beginning, but that they then scroll in and out automatically. set the timing so that the first one scrolls in and then say 2 seconds later scrolls out, then have the second one start "after previous",etc

I answered this elsewhere in the forum (as I start to read new posts from the bottom new thread upwards!) so here is a repeat...
1. Create the text that you want to scroll in a text field box. 2. Right click on the text box where your text is. Select 'custom animation' from the drop-down box. 3. On 'effects' tab, select 'crawl' from l/h drop down box. 4. On 'effect's tab, select 'from right' from 'r/h' drop down box. 5. Select 'ok'. 6. View show from slide show tool bar. There - how's that?! |

I have just messed around and done it with a "fly in" entrance from right followed immediately (i.e. "start after previous") with a "fly out" exit to left, in PowerPoint 2010.
