Hi all,
It seems there are no coding standards (or none I've been able to find so far) for spare parts or assets? Does anyone know where I could find such information? We're currently in the middle of reviewing the coding structures we use, so it's of great importance we choose a system that will be effective and preferably internationally recognised for coding these parts? I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out with this one... Thanks, Steve |

It depends what you want the codes for. You could start your coding with the EU commodity codes (CN Codes), but it's quite a task. I had to categorise 22000 stationery products in a database to use on the Barclays B2B website (Now dead) and it took me a few weeks of research. You could always outsource the project.
