Currently using Oracle JInitiator v1.3.1.17 with Windows XP as the operating system for the system/applications l use. What difference will it make if one uses Oracle JInitiator v1.3.1.17 & not Oracle JInitiator v1.3.1.18 using Windows XP?
What are the benefits of using Oracle JInitiator v1.3.1.17 instead of Oracle JInitiator v1.3.1.18 with Windows XP? Of the above versions, which is best for laptops, newer computers & can you recommend a good web browser that will support the oracle software? M A Rwegasira MSc BSc (Hons) IEng MIET |

OK
I read some information about JInitiator here This documentation is against a 10g server not the 11g. I'll see if I can provide a link in a bit. More to follow... There is a list of versions of JInitiator for 10g here and detailed in the changes (here) details the bugs that are fixed. Standard statement would be: If the following bug fixed were an issue for you then upgrade. If everything works, schedule in the upgrade against the scheduled maintenance release. Bear in mind that 1.3.1.18 is not the latest version you may want to consider the following. Hopefully this is enough information for you to digest and provide a more targetted question(s). What is best for laptops and a good browser could be moot points to which everyman will have a tuppence to chip in... ------------------------- Ian Lowson MIET Do or do not, there is no try!
