HI Guys,
I am looking at control system upgrade paths and have posted on the other forums. I am looking at options of delayig the need to upgrade the project software for a few years. I want to know of your experience with finding companies that make them and If you can recommend any companies? I also want to know what experience you might have of using VM ware type software to run high speed control systems? thanks, JR |

Hi JR,
Are you talking Windows 2000 server or Desktop Professional? I've had some experience of writing software packages using VMware type software in a process environment, if you drop me some details of type of software and control and system by email, or give me a call, I'll see what I can find for you. I believe that Windows 2000 is version 5.0, Windows XP is 5.1, Vista is 6.0 and Windows 7 is 6.1.
Windows2000/XP are very much the same operating system but an updated GUI in XP. Similar situation for Vista / Windows7! Windows 7 supports virtual PCs natively there is an article all about running XP here This might help... ------------------------- Ian Lowson MIET Do or do not, there is no try! |
