Hi, I have to write a procedure for backing up the PLC program in a Controllogix 5000 PLC. I have not used this particular type of PLC before so would be grateful if anyone has a step-by-step guide. Many thanks.

You basically need to connect to the controller and upload the program using the RSLogix 5000 Software. I found the following which may help further: https://www.synergistscada.com/rslogix-5000-101-how-to-retrieve-a-logix5000-plc-program/ Note though if the version of your RSLogix 5000 Software does not match the version in your actual controller, then there may be a further complication. So you may need to save the uploaded program as an .L5K file and then load it into the RSLogix 5000 Software (which might need some hand editing) and then re-save as a .ACD file.
