I am currently working at a site where we have no standard for tagging naming. We have just standardised on AB Compact and Control Logix PLC's.
Does anyone have any documents they could share as a starting point on an approach to tagging. ie labelling alarms, inputs, outputs and referencing them to set plc's Regards, Henry |

I'd suggest you have a look at ANSI/ISA-5.1-2009; "Instrumentation Symbols and Identification". In particular, Annex A.
