I'm the Community Development Manager for the IET's Control & Automation Network and I'm currently asking for advice from engineers working in this field on how I can improve the quality of the Control & Automation web area. What online resources would help you in your profession?

My aim is to disseminate knowledge and facilitate networking in both an offline and online capacity.

It would be great to hear your thoughts!

The InstMC publishes a list of relevant standards (British and other) in their annual Instrument Engineers Review. This list takes up several pages of A4. For a self employed engineer, the cost of purchasing all these is prohibitive. An on-line library of standards would be a blessing!

Janine,

From a Low Voltage Assembly design perspective, it would certainly be useful for like-minded Engineers to have access to reference literature pertaining to standards such as BS 61439, BS 61508 and Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations, (in particular Design Risk Assessment)

On a commercial note, guidance and literature for those working in the contracting industry may also appreciate NEC3 ECC information

Trusting this is of some help
