Hi there, I'm MSc Student and have passion to learn about Ericsson's TEMS cell planning and Optimisation tools. Could some one guide me please is there any training provider in UK.I tried to contact Ericsson but not satisfied with their reply. |

I presume that you've read the literature available from the E/// website Link removed/products/tems/index.shtml
Getting hands-on usage of TEMS products would be difficult. TEMS Cell Planner, like all other RF planning tools (Atoll, Assett, Odyssey, Planet) needs a licence to run, and training on RF tools is not cheap either. There are old versions of TEMS Investigation in circulation, which can be used to read log files, but you wouldn't be able do any live network analysis without a licence plus hardware (e.g. handset or scanner). Best bet is to approach E/// or Agilent or Aircom, but through your place of study, asking for demo versions or old versions maybe. |

If you want to have a play with a simplified RF planning tool and have access to a copy of Matlab. (There are cheap student version of Matlab). You could get hold of a copy of "Radio Network Planning and Optimisation for UMTS" which has a simplified matlab radio planning tool included.

THANKS FOR PROVIDING THE INFORMATION.I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE TEMS INVESTIGATION TOOLS FOR PRACTISING SINCE I AM RF PLANNING MAN WORKING FOR AN ORGANISATION WITHOUT USING ANY KIND OF TOOLS.I WOULD BE MORE HELPFUL FOR ME FOR MY PERSONAL UPGRADATION.

TEMS is about as stable as a Big Brother winner,your passion may quickly turn to deep hate. TEMS has great features for easy post processing and KPI reports but the actual collection of data using anything more exotic than a single Ericsson UE will make you weep. Have fun

Won't you need a sample celref file and neighbour list plus antennae specs- sorry to sound like a jaded old git but TEMS is really getting on my nerves at the moment. |
