The Beeb once received a complaint that the New York Police department radios were being block by their domestic services. It turned out that a high-order harmonic of the rogue h.p. transmitter was beating with a similar mishap from one of the Beeb's s.w. transmitters to produce he carrier frequency of the NYPD radio channel AND that there just happened to be a freak atmospheric phenomenon that was affording free passage across the Atlantic.

You can never be too sure.
