Hi engineers,
I am in my final year of CE and currently working a project which is to build a software defined radio receiver and compare it with analog receivers in terms of complexity, price and functionality.
However I'm struggling to find existing SDR and analog radio receivers on the market to compare and research about.
If there is anyone who could help me out by giving some advice or the direction to head to, I would be very thankful.
Regards
Jenny.

Have a look at this site:-

www,rfspace.com. I have a SDR-IQ, very interesting and powerful receiver. Their are various software packages available to drive SDR receivers, most are free and open source.

Hi Jenny,
you may have some luck with softrock, its is amateur radio center SDR

softrockradio.org
or here
genesisradio.com.au/G40/

SDR is slowly becoming more widely used in the amateur radio scene.
Good luck with your project
Andy

Thank you all for your help!!

I have some SDR front end block diagrams that I want to implement on either Proteus or Matlab Simulink and simulate them for my project but so far I have not able able to do so. On proteus, I am not able to find the components that are specified in the designs and on matlab simulink, I dont know how to work my way around it as there is no antenna and I dont know how to input the signal into it.

The first design is KUAR RF front end in the link below on page 6.

Please help me out!!

Thanks in advance

Jenny.
