The gas safe is not without problems as well, for the sake of four self-tapping screws (maybe even one) would have saved the life of two young teenagers'.

i went into somebodies roof to investigate a tv aerial signal problem a few weeks ago and the flue that was supposed to be vented though the roof was instead in 2 pieces and venting fully into the roof space.

The real world reflected in practice. This would be why the regs for gas have changed?

All flue systems need to be inspectable now.
