as title says i fancy not doing part-p again for a year as the amount of notifiable is getting less but if i leave and want to come back in say a year do i have to spend the £1500 or so for approval or will they let me come back with my 2391 and 17th edition quals.
im with elecsa at present but my renewal is in a month....

Sounds like something you should be asking Elecsa really.
I don't remember it being that expensive the first time round though.

Only you can do the sums as to whether its worth while staying with a scam provider or paying the LABC as and when. Several LABC charge about the same as a years scam membership so if you are in that sort of area it's a financial no brainer.

Where do you get £1500 from? - I'm paying less than a third of that.

Another issue is will the scams be in existence in a year?

I would like to point out to the OP there are at the moment three ways to compliance, you can go through the LA, direct to LABC or use a private BC service.

LABC are an independent inspection service and the LA like yourself is a client, our prices are competitive with the private sector, the term LABC is confusing at the moment but discussions are ongoing which could see a change to NBC, IBC or a combination of both NIBC.

The 1500 is from qualifications needed to be part -p nowadays but I spoke to Elecsa and if I want I can leave and if need be become part-p at a later date ..
