Gents
I have removed the existing ballast / ignitor and capacitor from a metal halide fitting and replaced with new items, when I have put the fitting on supply (temp supply in the unit) the 30ma Rcd tripped, a quick visual of the cabling and lamp holder etc has high lighted no issues and after calling the supplier and getting a quick brush off I thought thats it for the day.
The only difference between the items removed and replaced is that the new ballast is 2 terminal and the old was three terminal, I have made the slight mod to the cabling and followed the wiring diagram on the new ignitor.
Any thoughts before I get back to the office tomorrow afternoon?

Just what mod did you have to make to the cabling? The extra pin on the old ballast would have just been a voltage tapping ~ you would still only need two wires to the ballast....

Hi GB,
Have you checked the lampholder connections? They often burn off in these fittings.
