Hi guys,

I have a couple of questions that is bugging me.

Currently I have a site cabin with a diesel generator within, toilet and site office including distribution box and 230v supply voltage and rcd protected.

Next, another cabin that has an external 230v socket, internal distribution box with RCD protection.

What certification do I need for the electrical system and can this be done / certified before delivery to site

If a TT system, does the earth need to be checked at the site?

Hope someone can help

John P

On a construction site it would require an electrical instalation certificate, it needs to be further tested and inspected I believe every 3 months. You will also have to take into account CDM regulations which may have an impact (I'm not familiar myself). There may well be further regulations with the diesel generating set that you will need to consider.

It won't be TT it is a TN-S type system the earth rod being used for referencing the generator to earth. You will need to ensure there is a N(star)-E link at the generator windings.

Offices and cabins do not come under the same requirements as Construction Sites, I believe.
