Hi today I came across a double socket in a cupboard in a bathroom which is close to a shower. What are peoples views on this ?? thankyou for any replies

As long as the cupboard has a door, then to my mind it's outside the location and so complies. (It used to be common to see single sockets in airing cupboard feeding the immersion, right behind the bath taps; even today it's not unusual to see a 20A SP switch there).

If I was doing an EICR I might comment on the dangers of portable appliances in proximity to showers and suggest consideration be given to the socket's removal as a simple precaution if there's no particular need for it. Not a regs matter though.

I wouldnt worry about it,i see plenty of washing machines in cupboards in bathrooms,nobody has died yet.
