It's a bit of a trek for me unfortunately, it's a shame. Several of the people over on the Stanley forum are going, I'd have liked a catch up. I will definitely try and make sandown when it comes along, and will probably be popping along to screwfix live in farnborough next month. I must say the whole exhibition thing is new to me!

Won't be going to Screwfix live, but may try to do Sandown again.

Well I'm going, it's only 30-40 minutes for me. Don't know anything about NAPIT but I am looking forward to a few hours visit. If anyone would like to meet me I will be carrying a regs book, and will have a carnation in my lapel!

I go to the Coventry Elex. Is it nearly that time already?

Good for tool shopping (go on the Friday for that and buy at about 3pm), good for catching up with friends, good for nagging on about part P if that is your thing but I'm afraid I sit at the other end of the table from that lot. Good networking and I usually meet someone interesting from the industry at the tea place....Briggsy who went on to be my tutor for 2396, the editor of PE, Paul Skyrme, Richard Townsend...

Curry is on the Thursday night...not great curry BTW.

Most of the chaps meet for a drink on the Thursday eve and then go for the curry. I miss the pub bit...too early for me to get there. Then it's a ridiculously late night gossiping and somebody always gets very drunk (not me BTW) they all go out for a big breakfast the next day but I miss that too...too early again It's a good day off.

Who's coming then? let's see if it holds water, unlike the Essex boys' big night out...

Well Zs, I went to Sandown Elex last year as well, & went out for the night there too!
The curry is not, that, bad!
Company is OK.

Is your mentor coming this year?...

Thursday 19th + Friday 20th September. 10-4. It is packed early on so a later start is better, though I've only ever been on the first day, maybe day 2 is quieter?

I'm up for considering doing it properly with a overnight stay in a hotel and meal out rather than just a daytrip.

Is the night out thingy open to all on the forumn as it seems a good idea for a night stay over and beer and curry.

of course it is Antric, and it would be good to meet you.

I shall send you a pm in a mo, telling you where we all stay and the name of the pub where the chaps meet before-hand. The curry place is just behind it so the whole lot is walkable. I don't know where they go for breakfast on the day of the show but expect it to be one of the shops near to the Ricoh Arena....Tesco??? maybe someone will confirm that.

Anyone else who wants to know the details, just send me a pm.

You need to note that this is a public forum so make sure your home is not being left unattended before you broadcast your absence from it on here.

As they go, this is one of the most relaxed events of the year and you don't have to hide behind any kind of pretence on this one. Come as you are.

I'm out.... the industry becoming nose led by manufacturers is the second worst thing to happen since the colour change!

He's big and he's red....well, more of a strawberry blond to be honest. If you all shout together I reckon you will all have a free pint. I always thought the tag name was something to do with the regs book, but then it went dark as Big Red Stood in the doorway...

I'll not be at the pub. Leaving you all to have some boys' time.

Thanks
