Just trying to estimate the age of an installation. It has rewirable fuses, no RCd's or VOELCB. It has been rewired with PVC to replace the old black rubber. Did a requirement for RCD's on ground floor sockets come in with the 16th or was it in the 15th?
Thanks.

From memory, there was a requirement for at least one RCD protected socket (marked 'For equipment outdoors') in the 15th - although it was widely ignored. 30mA RCDs for all sockets likely to supply equipment outdoors I think was 16th.

Presumably this is a TN installation - RCDs for TT systems (for ADS rather than additional protection) go way back.
