I am replacing 30 existing downlighters with GU10 LED fittings supplied by customer, the existing holes are approx 10mm too big, I have heard of converter kits but the all seem to include the lampholder etc, what I was envisaging is similar to the halos we used to fit on ceiling roses but having trouble finding anything. Any ideas?

What make are the downlights? I know that Aurora make some specifically to fit their downlights, but they would not necessarily work with other manufacturers products.

are the existing ones MR16 or similar? At 30 to deal with, id hunt high and low to try and get a new fitting that will fill the existing hole rather than put up with whatever the customer has found until ive run out of options.

What size hole do you have at the moment?

As the customer supplied the new fittings I would say it is the customer's problem.

The fittings are KSR 104mm outer dia with 94mm cutout, existing holes 100mm give or take

Halers do a metal converter plate which fits their products and is available to purchase separately - about £9 each from memory.

After searching for halos, we decided to have some made from 3mm plastic by a local signmaker, although they are square they look ok, where there's a will there's a way
