legacy issue more like it - when there was only the ECA and the NICEIC and the ECA were the grown up organisation that didn't bother with domestics these sort of things requiring NICEIC were plastered into all sorts of documents from churches to insurance companies and local councils and beyond. You might be lucky, NAPIT have suceeded in getting a few issues like this changed - but I wouldn't hold your breath regards OMS ------------------------- Failure is always an option |

Isn't the company free to choose which bodies they want the electrical companies to be members of? They aren't all the same are they?
You can book the same holiday from a number of agents but you might use the one that's ATOL approved over the other bodies available. |

Exactly, it's up to the customer to specify who they want to use! (or to be used)

Do you think the chaps who lend money worry about that sort of thing - they know about NICEIC, if you want the mortgage, get a PIR by a NICEIC company as stipulated by them to minimise thier lending risk - simple - eveyone else is an unknown and therefore more risk to the lender Regards OMS ------------------------- Failure is always an option |

Yes, they're free to choose whose inspections they'll accept....
But when they specify one particular body, based purely on laziness or habit (or more likely click-n-paste), then I think you're justified in being a bit pee'd off!! |
